February 20th, 2018 - During a cold day in February, I decided to try and photograph ice crystals on are deck glass at sunrise (slow day for pictures).

February 22nd, 2018 - Sunrise after a light snow in February.

March 1st, 2018 - Nice clouds and snow in early March on Mt Clemans.

March 2nd, 2018 - Woke up to a light snow and lightly flocked Pine Trees in early March.

March 7th, 2018 - Pretty sunrises are a common thing in the Spring.

March 30th, 2018 - The view from Snow Mountain Ranch parking lot in late March.

April 6th, 2018 - A well constructed Beaver Dam on Cowiche Creek as high water from snow melt flows down it.

May 4th, 2018 - A nice Cary's Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza careyana) and Bee at Snow Mtn Ranch Wildflower trail. Many of the Spring flowers are already drying up from the light snow last Winter.

March 4th, 2018 - A nice bunch of Thymeleaf Buckwheat (Eriogonum thymoides) along the Wildflower trail at Snow Mountain Ranch.

May 7th, 2018 - This young Marmot fell into an old PVC pipe and couldn't climb out. I helped him out with the aid of a small hoe and removed the old pipe. He didn't think it was very funny.

May 24th, 2018 - Most of the large rock on our property is Basalt whether above or below the ground. It is living prove of our violent past. Much of the rock has cracks or holes where lava blew out or was ejected. If you look at the bottom of the hole, you will see gray sand. This is from May 18th, 1980 when Mt St Helens erupted and deposited almost an inch of sandy dust on everything. I was here and remember well the lunar gray landscape aftermath.

May 26th, 2018 - The moment the Sun peaked over "Pretty Mountain", I was ready with my camera and a wide angle lens on it. Photographed from our deck. The sunburst only lasted a few seconds and then was gone.

June 3rd, 2018 - We have Western Poison Ivy (Toxicodendron rydbergii) in various places on our property and leaning to recognize it is a must. It's an itchy situation if you get into some, even lightly. Remember - "Leaves of three, let it be".

June 20th, 2018 - Great Basin Wildrye (Leymus cinereus) - Of all the grasses we have on our property, this is by far the largest one. This bunchgrass grows as tall a you are and makes beautiful golden tassels in the Fall.

June 24th, 2018 - There's always something watching us and I caught this alert Coyote doing so one morning. He was just across the East end of our property (about 300 yards away) and had his ears straight up as he looked us over for about 5 minutes. Shortly after I snapped the picture, he was gone.

July 1st, 2018 - A bad brush fire near us in July.

July 4th, 2018 - Orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata) - The second largest grass we have. Grows largely along the creek and make big tassels as you can see.

July 4th, 2018 - Bluejoint Reedgrass (Calamogrostis canadensis) - Some Bluejoint tassels mixed in with some Pinegrass. They often show signs of purple and have wider leaves and grow taller than Pinegrass, but are of the same Genus.

July 4th, 2018 - Big Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) - A picture of me in front of a very large Sagebrush bush. Located on our property at Cowiche Creek, it measures 17' wide, 9' tall and has a 20" base below where the 4 lower limbs come out. Still healthy, it must be quite old and seen a lot of Sunsets.

July 13th, 2018 - My Observatory after installing a new pvc roof and painting it Sagebrush Green.

August 9th, 2018 - Chicory (Cichorium intybus) - Brought to America as a substitute for coffee. This has pretty sky blue flowers in the Summer.

August 12th, 2018 - Three shot vertical panorama of Little Twin Sister lake looking North. My brothers and I spent three days there in August.

August 13th, 2018 - Taken looking South from the outlet of Little Twin Sister lake, which is currently dry. This is the start of Deep Creek. My nephew Ryan is fishing.

August 13th, 2018 - Taken from a small Pinegrass meadow near our camp. Sunrise is always a pretty time at Little Twin Sister lake.

August 27th, 2018 - Found this little Woodrat also known as a Packrat, hiding in some rocks in the Pine forest area. Not sure what happened to it, but I saw it on and off for about a month.

September 19th, 2018 - Another beautiful Sunrise over Pretty Mountain taken from our deck.

October 9th, 2018 - After a rain storm, the Sun peaked out in the West making Pretty Mountain glow brightly for a few minutes. A very pretty sight with the dark clouds overhead.

December 22nd, 2018 - Made a trip into Cowiche Canyon and found some pretty Icicles.

December 22nd, 2018 - Some colorful Lichens in Cowiche Canyon.

December 22nd, 2018 - Some Moonglow Lichen along the Cowiche Canyon trail.
